Fredrick's & Chico's

Checking my email is like waiting for a check from the Publisher's Clearing House Sweepstakes.  I don't know exactly what I expect to come in it - but there is always great anticipation that there will be something beyond wonderful waiting for me.  Take this morning for example.  How thrilled was I to learn that Fredrick's of Hollywood was having a 50% off sale!  I mean really!  I am practically dressed and in the car.

My main question is - HOW exactly did I GET on the email list?  I am pretty sure SPANX doesn't make thongs with feathers.  Could my all in one sausage casing suit have secretly been made by Fredrick, himself? Had Fredrick immigrated from Germany with terrific sausage making prowess? Doubt it.  Ah, well, it is fun to keep up on the, ah-hem, trends...

This must have shoe is one of Fredrick's fall treasures.  I know - can't WAIT to snag a pair!  Five and a half inches of towering terror! Plus, I got an email today from Chico's with all their lovely Traveler's collections on sale, too!  I could have a perfect Chico's Traveler's outfit to wear with these!  What'd you think?

GREAT look - Chico's AND Fredrick's!!

So, now lets get a little more serious. I love feathers.  They have a certain place in fashion.  Once relegated to boas and hats, feathers are a great statement when used with panache.  I was recently at a wedding and the bride had an adorable handmade veil anchored with a lovely flat feather and pearl clip.  So chic and clean.  Blythe, our Queen Jeweler at Stella and Dot, has designed a fabulous feather piece for the collection.  Move over Fredrick, Blythe is on the loose.  This is the Pegasus Necklace.  It was featured in InStyle last month - maybe you noticed it.  It is gold metal feathers hand sewn onto silk organza - so hard to see the fine details.  It is smashing.  One of those pieces you will have FOR-ever!

I do love Chico's clothes.  I picked up a great sweater on the sale rack the other day.  Not everything makes the cut, but this one did.  I would decidedly need just the right thing for this necklace.  Nah, just a great crisp white blouse, collar POPPED.  Or maybe this to die for W for Worth outfit.  Yes, just perfect.  I got an email from my friend Lynn  today about her W for Worth trunk show.  NOW that is the kind of email that I can't wait to get...and THIS is the kind of outfit I can't wait to wear! You?

Facial Creams and Deflated Dreams

I have come to the most fabulous conclusion!  BE GONE facial creams that promise elastic skin in just ten days!  I've spent my last penny on roller balls that promise me that smooth baby bottom skin is on it's way.  Line fillers can't begin to spackle my laugh lines - I've had the time of my life (more than once, I might add) and my smile shows it!

This is how I see it.  Last week at the Nordstrom beauty counter, I was advised to use Estee Lauder Re-Nutriv Intensive Lifting Lotion as follows:  Apply every morning and night after Intensive Lifting Serum. To ensure your skin receives the greatest possible Intensive Lifting benefits, always use in partnership with Re-Nutriv Intensive Lifting Serum and Eye Creme.  It was sworn to me that my collagen depleted skin would be robust and plump within 30 days.  It would cost me $410.  With a rise of my creased brow, I say how very grateful I am for the opportunity to experience the loveliness of these beauty treatments, but no thank you.

For MUCH less than $410 my wrinkle free dreams are on the back burner, but look at how GORGEOUS I can be with this sparkle around my graceful neck and glitter on my delicate earlings!  http://www.stelladot.com/sites/bybetsey
